Fate may be comforting to believe When searching for the meaning. But if everything has been foreseen by destiny, Then it means nothing to me. If all is for the best, And the hand of providence Allows no coincidence unplanned, Tell me where you stand In this deterministic plan To make any difference at all? Let’s just say, for the argument’s sake, There are no choices to make, And no risk to take, no good deeds, no mistakes, No responsibility. But if all is for the best, Well then we can only guess Why this world is such a mess. And if we have no control In the matters of this world, Then what do you search your soul for?

Epiphany 03:27
All these things, catapulting through my brain. I search in vain, only knowing you by name. O, Epiphany, why do you run from me? O, Epiphany! You’re something I can’t quite put my finger on. You’re something I can’t quite wrap my head around. All these things ricochet around my head. I do my best, but you always stay a step ahead. O, Epiphany, I lie in wait for thee. O, Epiphany! You’re something I can’t quite put my finger on. You’re something I can’t quite wrap my head around. You’re running, and I can’t quite seem to track you down. But someday, I will find you, I just don’t know how.

O – I’m serious… Nobody seems to mind The slow decline. O – I’m serious… Everyone seems just fine With the nevermind. Nobody’s looking At where they’re going. And nobody’s steering, As if they’re floating downstream. O – I’m serious… One by one, we march contently out to sea. Everyone thinks someone else has got the lead. But nobody’s looking At where they’re going. And nobody’s steering, As if they’re floating downstream. O – I’m serious… Nobody seems to mind The slow decline. O – I’m serious… Everyone seems just fine With the nevermind.

To & Fro 04:37
Go to and fro, sidewalk suit soldiers. Marching to your babbleground. Take what you can from your fellow man. Run now while you’ve got the chance… The gears go grinding on, Long after you’ve gone. On and on… Praise all of the nuts And praise all of the screws, Who faithfully cling to her majesty And keep all her surfaces clean… The gears go grinding on, Long after you’ve gone. The gears go grinding on. On and on…

Leap 05:07
Out of the blue, Down came a white As pure as snow in June. She sang a tune In the softest soothing tones I ever knew. Hangin’ on to heaven By the skin of my teeth. Here is my confession… No, I never believed. But if she’s an angel, Then I’m praying don’t leave without me It’s strange to think She only stayed for a short time. And although I never grew my wings, Still I leap up into the sky, Hoping to take flight. Hangin’ on to heaven By the skin of my teeth. Here is my confession… No, I never believed. But if she’s an angel, Then I’m praying don’t leave without me. But she looked down at me and said… “You know you’re not alone. You’ll never be alone. You know you’re not alone.”

All Right 05:09
The serum slowly seeps through bloodstream, Snaking its way to my brain stem. Screaming neurons soon cease fire, My mind finally at ease. And I say… it’s okay, it’s all right. This peace of mind is ever fleeting. I’m always two steps out of touch. When all the knives come out to greet me, I know it wasn’t quite enough. But I say… it’s okay, I’m all right.

O – every weekend is an island. I’m just trying to float ashore. O – every Sunday is an eyesore. Get ready to sink again. O – off the deep end. O – off the deep end, again. O – as I try to swim to safety, The water fills up my lungs. O – and the current overtakes me. One moment more, and I’m done. O – I might as well. O – I might as well let go. O – Every weekend is an island.

Sinking 04:47
I’m a sinking ship, And buckets just won’t fix this. Women and children first. The hull’s about to burst. Watching it all fall apart on my… Watching it all fall apart. It’s only broken in my head. It’s never quite right in my head. It’s always broken in my head. In my head. Can’t you see? I’m losing speed. Friction fights the inertia, Pulling me down. I’m a shooting star, But I’m not going far. Piercing the atmosphere, My pilot knows no fear. Watch me burning up before your eyes. Watch me burning up the sky. If you broke into my head, You could see the things I never said, If you could see inside my head. Can’t you see? I’m losing speed. Friction fights the inertia, Pulling me down.

Of Analog 04:26
We kings of analog, Humanity our fatal flaw, Keep on climbing up the walls, Only to fall before long. But after all… All we know… All we know is we don’t know. For all we know… All we know is we don’t know. It’s all we know. We kings of analog, Finding meaning Reading between The lines we draw, Keep on climbing after every fall.

The Payoff 03:54
Go sell me, darling, For the best deal you find. I won’t mind, ’cuz all I see Are fading dreams and memories Of you and me. Go sell me, darling. Cash out while you can. I’ll understand, ’cuz what I say Will keep you waiting for the day, The day that I’ll pay off. But I’m only dead weight, And the future’s looking grim. And the sun is slowly sinking. I don’t think we’re gonna win, this time. So go sell me, darling. I’ll try to look the other way As you throw me away. It’s plain to see I’m just a liability, So cut my string.

about

Annum Ford Nevada

Not everything comes out of Vegas sprinkled in glitz and glamour. Formed in 2004, by life-long friends Nick Vincent (vocals/rhythm guitar), Nick Whalen (lead guitar), Jon Losey (bass) and Mike Reilly (drums), Annum Ford took their name from Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. Annum Ford created a dynamic alt-rock sound that left a lasting impression until they called it quits in 2007. ... more
